The vision of DQ-mat, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is the targeted design of quantum states of matter to explore and master the fundamental properties of quantum-correlated many-body systems and to exploit these states for enhanced metrology, enabling tests of our understanding of fundamental physics at unprecedented levels. Following this vision, our research agenda naturally focuses on two main topics, organized in Research Areas. I am working on project DQmat-B09, focused on quantum clocks interferometry and techniques to measure dephasing effects due to gravitational redshift in a delocalised quantum system.
The cluster of excellence QuantumFrontiers, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), focuses on the basic pillars of metrology: foundations and applications. The foundations of metrology focus on the fundamental properties of light, matter and their interactions. QuantumFrontiers scientists thus create the theoretical, conceptual and engineering foundations for applications in metrology and fundamental physics. These applications for metrology are the focus of the second research area: from measuring with nanoscale molecules to the development of truly macroscopic gravitational wave detectors.
As of 2024, I am part of the executive board serving as the PhD student representative.
TerraQ aims at the optimisation of geodetic mass observation meaThe collaborative research center TerraQ – Relativistic and Quantum-based Geodesy is a multidisciplinary research programme funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). We aim to advance quantum-based measurement concepts for monitoring mass changes from space and on ground, combined with the corresponding data analysis and modelling, in order to provide sophisticated tools that significantly enhance our knowledge on the involved change processes in the system Earth.surements on ground and from space.
